市圖的"新書上架"

是我每次去圖書館的第一站

因為...可以第一手看到全新的書..而且還是免費的!!

常常在那都沒時間好好看 (陳小妞都吵得要死)

都亂借一通拿回家

結果借回家之後

有50%的機率會借到好書

這本也是...

這是一本敘述媽媽不在家，爸爸代打唸故事的一本書

一剛開始，爸爸選什麼故事書都被打槍

姊弟倆不斷鄙視爸爸選的書

甚至最後還說，真希望媽媽沒有出去跟朋友吃飯...

最後激起，爸爸的創造力...

"How about if Daddy invents a story instead?"

故事如下...

Once upon a time there was a pretty little princess

很久以前有一位美麗小公主 (為迎合姐姐，弟弟聽了受不了)

who drove a monster truck

她開著怪獸卡車 (於是爸爸轉成開卡車)

But the truck was covered with shiny purple and silver sparkles made from magic fairy dust

但這個卡車塗滿著亮紫色而且因為仙粉閃耀著銀色光芒

Of course, the magic fairy dust allowed the monster truck to fly, so it could

想當然，這個仙粉還可以讓這台卡車飛起來，所以可以....

battle the evil space Aliens of Doom

去對抗死亡星球來的邪惡外星人

All with the help of enchanted unicorn who backed vanilla cupcakes

藉著會烤香草口味杯子蛋糕的獨角獸幫助

But the leader of the aliens, Zorgon the Fire-Burper would never stop until he destroyed the planet

但外星人的首領，一個會吐火的Zorgon人，除非他毀滅地球否則是不會放棄

So the brave princess pulled out her laser saber

所以這勇敢的公主拔出那雷射光劍

Slapped on her X-ray invisbility glasses

在他可以抵抗X光的眼鏡前揮舞

caneled her playdate with Emma

取消與Emma的約會

and hailed her army of adorable orphan kitty cats

然後抱著由可愛的孤兒小貓組成的軍隊去對抗

But the fearsome Zorgon would not be stopped

但這恐怖的Zorgon是不會放棄的

...So he summoned the famous Kung-Fu Cabal of Sneezing Pigs

所以他召喚了一隻會功夫的噴嚏豬

and began to launch missiles filled with corn and the eyeballs of dead spiders

並且開始發射裝滿玉米和死蜘蛛眼球做成的火箭

Yet the heroic princess who had grown up without parents, uncles, or even an iPad

但這英勇的公主，在沒有父母親、叔叔、甚至是iPad的情況下長大

retaliated with a surprise black-belt ballet-slipper spinning-thermonuclear side rumple-dumple kick

(that she'd learned from her mentor, Cuddles the Ninha Puppy) and....

用他從可愛的忍者小狗導師學來的驚人 黑帶、芭蕾舞鞋、梭狀熱核外加胡亂踢踢功來報復

(這一段簡直可以用亂七八糟，不知道在說啥來形容...)

KA-BOOM!!

The princess defeated Zorgon!

公主打敗Zorgon了!!

And everyone lived happily ever after.

大家從此過著快樂的生活

這個爸爸為了講出符合女兒和兒子口味

講出如此曲折的故事!! 讓自己的兒女佩服到不行~

還拜託爸爸再說一次~~ 你看這爸爸得意的不得了!!

就是因為太天馬行空、亂七八糟...

所以我才決定來把故事先翻譯一下，但才發現超難翻譯的

順帶一提...如果唸英文繪本但是都翻譯給小孩聽

到底能不能夠增進英文能力呢?

不知道~

只希望能增加小孩對英文的興趣

有朝一日可以自行去研究拉~

唸故事也念了這麼久...

不過不知道功力甚麼時候也可以到那個爸爸可以天馬行空的亂掰一通

(我媽就可以..)

希望固化的腦袋...可以有朝一日活化起來~~
